The Team

Over the next two years, we will design and build a net-zero energy home in our local community. We believe in young professional development to learn how to implement sustainable, affordable solutions.

We are the University of Colorado Solar Decathlon Team competing in the U.S. Department of  Energy’s 2023 Solar Decathlon Competition. Our student group consists of about 25 graduates and undergraduates in Engineering, Environmental Design, and Business.


The Competitions

The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon® is a collegiate competition to build high-performance, low-carbon residences. 

The competition has been inspiring thousands of students worldwide to work in the clean energy and building industry since 2002. 

The 10 contests that make up the decathlon focus on mitigating climate change and improving quality of life by designing and building affordable, resilient, energy efficient homes.

The Action

We need your help because building next generation buildings costs money! Our team works pro-bono, but we can’t do it without professional help and guidance. On top of that, we are responsible for the cost of materials.

A $50 gift can buy low VOC paint

A $1,000 gift can buy Energy Star appliances

A $5,000 gift can buy a SANCO2 heat pump.
